i wanted to go for a number 612 blonde colour on top layer of hair, and my natural dark brown on bottom layer. will it go? or is the color 2 light? i want it to look sexy

What about using a 6 week color that would bring bronzing shades and give you a nice color instead of harsh reds or blonds? The blonde on your color will come out reddish brown. Your hair is too dark for blond unless you bleach it. Highlights might be nice too.

if you are getting that done you need to do it proffesionally. theres no way that you could do that and it turn out exactly how you want it. and if you are doing it dont die the whole top blonde, give it chunks

Do not go blonde; it will look fake, and too harsh with your tan complexion. A gorgeous color would be an auburn-brown color in a shade lighter than your hair is currently.
