Hair bleaching?

My hair is a darker brown and is a few inchese past my shoulders ((dont think that matters))

Anyway, pretty soon I'm going to layer my hair and bleach the bottoms layers. I live where its pretty cold/dry and I straighten my hair daily.

Now two questions. One, could the straighter or the dry conditions damage my hair? If so, how badly?

And secondly, would it just look stupid?

(i have blonde on top brown on the bottom)

and it stays reallyy straight
