Shower Hair Tips for Straight hair?

**I have dark brown straight hair, 2 inches below shoulder, lotsa layers, and hair gets dry easily!

When you take a shower, does anyone have tips to make it smoother, shinier, or silky? How about after shower? Should I brush? Add any products to it? Other tips?

Shampoo- before shampooing, lather in hands a bit like soap. the continue to only wash on the scalp. Shampooing ends with make it more frizzy. Rinse with warm water. Squeeze all excess water out.

Conditioner- Turn the tap to cooler water, which will give it more shine. apply conditioner to the length of your hair, oils tend to be near your roots. If you have really dry hair though, you can always spritz leave in conditioner after. Leave in for about 3 minutes. I usually put it on, put a shower cap on, do whatever else i have to do in the shower and at the end i rinse. When rinsing, do not rinse all conditioner out, leaving just a bit left.

DO NOT BRUSH YOUR HAIR WHEN IT IS WET. Combs are ok, but its really damaging and will wreck your hair.

If you blow dry , try using cooler settings, or at the end just give it a blast of cool air because it will help the shine. You can always get shine sprays too.

after you're done washing your hair rinse with cold water, it closes the hair cuticles and makes it shinier

And after your shower don't brush, use a wide toothed comb to get rid of tangles

if it gets dry then make sure you use plenty of conditioner. also use a leave in conditioner to keep your tangle free and hydrated. blow drying the wrong way and brushing hair too much gives hair split ends, which keeps it from being shiny and silky. Make sure you trim your split ends at least once per month to keep your hair healthy.

blow dry it it and it will come out shiny and beautiful... don't add any unless you are going somewhere or its that detangler stuff....
