How to Keep red hair!?

I recently dyed my top layer of hair red*bright red* and after a few washes it gets pink/orange color.. what can I do to keep it red longer.. I've been using L'oreal Highlights Red, and intense red shampoo/conditioners.. luke warm water, nothing hot... and it still washes out by the 3rd time i wash my hair.. any advise? i was told to use regular hair dye instead of high lights ... then a few days later use the high lights/??? advise?

I agree with the permanent dye statement.....try and find a colour that is close to what you want but obviously in a permanent hair dye (try to find a salon formulated brand instead of the average everyday hair dyes - its a better quality item!).....you can then 'refresh' the bright redness with a semi-permanent every so often if you need to - when ever you wish to be bold....and I again recommend buying a salon formulated shampoo and conditioner like the loreal tec ni art range or redken brands to keep your colour longer......both those 2 brands r fabulous and its worth spending the extra money on them as it will save you continually buying hair colours!

either that or go to a hair salon n get the colour you want n the stylist will give you ideas n tips on how to keep your colour fresh n long lasting.....its part of their job!

Your washing it out...try to wash your hair before you dye your hair so it will be clean and that way you don't have to wash it for a while. You might want to get a hair product that helps keep the die in. So ya that is about all I can say!
